About The RoleEssity is looking to hire a Material Development Manager within the m aterial development department. This team provides the expertise for materials used in Incontinence, Baby and Feminine care products. The team is responsible for developing and optimizing materials in cooperation with suppliers to deliver on product innovations, quality, supply and cost saving targets.

What You Will Do
In the role of Material Development Manager, you would be joining a team of fellow experts who have a collaborative approach and focus on innovation. The role is responsible for leading material development within Elastic, in close cooperation with suppliers, innovation teams and other appropriate parties.
Lead the required development of new and existing materials in close cooperation with the supplier or other relevant parties
Recommend suitable material/and or supplier in innovation projects and other material related activities, such as material rationalization and quality improvements. The participation in projects/activities can be of different levels - as consultant or as part of the project team
Collaborate with Procurement to establish a supply stream strategy for the material area and drive its implementation
Use your curiosity to grow in competence and knowledge in the material area of Elastic
Participate in assigned patent watch teams, and actively work to patent new material solutions
Initiate and lead material development activities in own area to deliver on the R&D platforms and improve state of readiness for future Innovation projects
Collaborate with stakeholders build and maintain R&D relations with suppliers in own area
Own and establish material specifications for defined material area
Promote the cost efficient use of defined material throughout the value chain, across Categories and Geographies.
Share and grow best practice by monitoring Essity’s and competitor's materials as well as material trends in the industry.
You are passionate about material development, strong communication skills and have the ability to simply and communicate complex matters in a meaningful and inspiring way. You thrive on seeking innovative solutions to the products you work with and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
You have:Demonstrated experience in the relevant technical field. Ideally experience within R&D or within manufacturing/operations.
Curiosity to work with Elastic materials
Demonstrated experience working with Polymer materials
Good understanding of the material and product development process from consumer insight to launch, and working processes/tools related to material and product development, such as patents, Six Sigma etc.
University Degree or equivalent within relevant practice, within a technical field, preferably Mechanical, Chemical or Textile Engineering
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build constructive and effective relationships and networks at all levels both internally and externally.
Excellent written and spoken fluency in English
